That warm, fuzzy Tim Conway feeling...
One of the many tasks involved in buying this house has been finding homeowner’s insurance. Ever since my auto accidents a couple years ago and the ordeal I went through with
Farmer’s Insurance, its safe to say that insurance has been the bane of my existence.
I switched from Farmer’s Insurance to State Farm when Farmer’s refused to pay my medical claim. I chose State Farm only because my attorney recommended them. I didn’t even shop around.
So when I needed to find homeowner’s insurance for the house I called up my State Farm rep and got a quote and guess what, it was really expensive. So expensive that it was going to raise my monthly mortgage payment a lot. Suddenly I realized I needed to shop around for insurance.
When I sat down and thought about insurance, one person came to mind, my old boss I used to work for years ago who was an insurance broker. I loved working for my old boss. He looked like Tim Conway and told stories that went on forever and made you feel like family.
I hadn’t talked to my old boss in a couple years but when I called him it was like time had never passed. After catching up on our families, he found me better homeowner’s insurance for $200 cheaper than State Farm and same coverage auto insurance for $300 cheaper than what I was paying at State Farm. Needless to say, I bought the insurance.
But I didn’t just buy better, cheaper insurance, no, I bought a security I haven’t had in a long, long time. I know without a doubt that if anything happens to my home, possessions, car or if I’m hurt in an accident, my old boss will make sure I’m taken care of. He takes care of his clients! And that’s what I’ve been missing all these years with Farmer’s and State Farm… that warm, fuzzy Tim Conway feeling that means I don’t have to worry, because I’m covered.
